Yesterday, 24 March 2026, we held the Pitching Session for participants of the second cohort of the Business Support Programme for Ukrainians in Birmingham. This final session marked a significant milestone, as participants confidently presented the business ideas they have been developing over the past six months.
The range of business concepts was both diverse and highly promising - from eco cafés and art classes and studio to children’s education services, furniture upcycling, home staging, and more. Each idea demonstrated creativity, sustainability, and a strong understanding of community needs.
It was inspiring to see how much progress our participants have made. Their confidence, professionalism, and motivation were evident throughout the session. Our guests - including representatives from established businesses, Birmingham City Council, Witton Lodge Community Association, and Moseley Community Development Trust -engaged actively, offering valuable questions, insights, and encouragement. The networking that followed was dynamic and productive, reinforcing the importance and impact of this Programme.
The next step for our participants is a dedicated networking session with other start‑ups and established businesses - an opportunity to build connections, gain visibility, and take their ideas to the next level.
"We are incredibly proud of their achievements. With continued support, collaboration, and belief in their potential, these emerging entrepreneurs are ready to transform their ideas into successful, sustainable businesses. Their journey is only beginning - and the future looks bright." - Olga Popova, Project Manager of the Programme.
