Last week, our Ukrainian Business Support Programme had the pleasure of meeting Pip, the founder of Pip’s Hot Sauce @pipshotsauce, Birmingham Artisan Markets CIC, and Jack potatoes business Spudulika - three exciting ventures that have made a big impact on Birmingham’s creative and food scene! 🌶️🥔🎨

Pip generously shared her inspiring business journey with our participants - from a spontaneous lunchtime idea to an award-winning local brand that has earned multiple Great Taste Awards and recognition as a “legend of Birmingham’s indie scene.”

Her story began with a simple craving for the perfect hot sauce and grew into a thriving business built on creativity, passion, and persistence. Together with her partner Matt, Pip turned an everyday moment into a flavourful success story - proof that believing in your idea can truly change your life.

During our session, Pip reminded everyone of one essential truth:

“You have to love and believe in your business idea - that’s the key to success.”

But that’s not all - Pip is also the founder of another exciting Birmingham initiative, Birmingham Artisan Markets CIC @birminghamartisanmarkets

Held every second Sunday on York Road, this vibrant market celebrates independent makers, artists, and local businesses, transforming the street into a true hotspot of Birmingham’s creative spirit.

On top of that, Pip runs Jack potatoes business Spudulika - a thriving street food venture that brings comfort food to the streets of Birmingham with creativity and passion. This hands-on business experience has enriched Pip’s journey and inspired her approach to supporting other small business makers.

We hope to see our Business Support Programme participants showcasing their own products and ideas at the Birmingham Artisan Markets CIC and beyond in the near future - joining Birmingham’s inspiring community of independent creators and entrepreneurs. 💛💙
